Making money online can sometimes be easier when your website is monitized for more than just one income producing activity. That's the theory, at least, behind Dave's Cool Little Website.
The sales page for Dave's Cool Little Website states that "it brought in over a thousand bucks in Adsense, Clickbank, and eBay revenue the first month it launched." The good news about this product is that it uses more than one income source as a way to monetize its assets. Adsense advertising income, Clickbank product commissions, and eBay direct sales revenue. The idea for this type of cloned website is good if somewhat of a bit of a cliche in business: don't put all your eggs in one basket; diversify. And while this approach attempts to make the best of a good situation, its strength is ultimately its weakness.
Although the concept behind Dave's Cool Little Website is sound on its surface, and especially for newbies who may have little or no HTML knowledge and even less Internet Marketing experience, because of the way the merchant has it set up it makes it difficult to customize or to drive enough targeted traffic to in order to make it into a viable source for income. Getting backlinks for search engine optimization may also be a problem for this kind of website clone. As one observer states: "Why would any outsider want to link to any website that has dozens of identical copies? That is, if the code owner even allows any links or link pages, which is doubtful."
While having these three different types of income producing streams on the site seems to make sense from a business standpoint (as a website owner, one wants to make use of every bit of space one can), from a customer standpoint is leaves one a bit confused! When there's no central focus for the potential client to adhere to, it makes it difficult to focus the customer on any one product or service. Unless the customer has a specific product in mind and clicked on the site in order to learn more about that product, chances are that the untargeted traffic that wanders in will find the site confusing or boring or both and leave!

And then there is the problem of customization. If you're going to spend money on an Adwords campaign, which is one way to get targeted traffic to the site, then you must be able to test your results and make changes to your site in order to raise the conversion rate. The problem with Dave's site is that it cannot be changed. The owner can make only minor cosmetic changes. Optimizing pages for keywords and so forth is severely limited or non-existent.
That leaves article marketing as the only other viable method of driving targeted traffic to the site. To garner a high position in the organic search engines a website requires careful optimization with emphasis on keywords and linking. Yet, as has already been stated, this type of site cannot be altered to focus on specific keywords, with optimized content focused on the page topic. In essence, when a website owner has little to no control over the content on his website, this leaves him pretty much dead in the water! Unless a potential customer knows what he's searching for and knows where to find it on your site, having a store front site like this, with other products the customer could care less about, only encourages him to leave the site.
Some people may be able to make limited online money from Dave's Cool Little Website concept, although we suspect that they will be few and far between. As an Internet Marketing model to recommend to others, even newbies, we cannot in all conscience recommend this program. Although the price seems to be right, and given that a person may be able to make back their investment in the site within a reasonable time period, unless the site could lend itself to the ability to make more than just a few hundred dollars a month, it really isn't worth becoming involved with. Don't waste your time or effort; it's better spent elsewhere. There are far better opportunities out there to look into that will put the small amount of income that this site might generate to shame!
